Sophos, a world leader in IT security and control, today announced that Maclean's, Canada's distinguished national newsweekly magazine, has selected Sophos for its British Columbia’s Top 40 Employers list. Last year the company was selected for the province’s "Top 30 Employers" list.
Sophos was recognized for an excellent benefits package that, among other things, offers enrollment in the company's bonus program, a matching Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), and participation in Sophos’s share option plan. Sophos was also acknowledged for a superior training and development program. Expanding and honing the current knowledge and skills of its employees is a main focus for the organization; the company offers comprehensive orientation programs, in-depth product training and external training opportunities."Being named one of BC’s Top Employers by Maclean's for the third year in a row is an affirmation of the hard work and commitment of each Sophos employee," said Mark Hatton, president at Sophos North America. "Having highly motivated and productive employees is essential to the longevity and overall success of any company and we certainly strive to make Sophos not only a fun and inviting place to work but also a place to learn and grow."
There are currently 197 employees in the Vancouver office, which accounts for more than 17% of Sophos’s worldwide employee base. Within the Vancouver office, there are personnel responsible for marketing, product marketing, product management, engineering, support, channel sales, inside sales, finance, IT and human resources.
Sophos is centrally located in downtown Vancouver. Formerly a bank, the open-concept space is complete with a basement vault and high ceilings. Sophos is currently in the process of refurbishing the office space with fresh paint, new carpets, new lighting and new workstations. Sophos employees have access to the company’s 24-hour lounge, which offers complementary coffee and tea and subsidized sandwiches and salads. There are also laundry services and laundry facilities.
