Sophos names Michael McGuinness Senior Vice President of worldwide sales and operations McGuinness will assume responsibility for the company's global sales and sales support organizations as well as its worldwide subsidiary operations

Mike McGuinness has been appointed Senior Vice President of worldwide sales and field operations.
BOSTON, Mass. - May 19, 2008 - IT security and control firm Sophos today announced the appointment of Michael McGuinness to Senior Vice President of worldwide sales and field operations. McGuinness will assume responsibility for the company's global sales and sales support organizations as well as its worldwide subsidiary operations. In this newly-created position, McGuinness will be charged with managing Sophos's rapid, global sales and organizational growth while identifying new ways to accelerate the company's success in key markets worldwide.
A seasoned leader with over 20 years of executive leadership, Michael McGuinness most recently held CEO positions at PanGo Networks and NuGenesis Technologies. Earlier in his career, McGuinness was instrumental in building the sales organization at Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) from its first sale to annual revenues surpassing $800 million. McGuinness ultimately held the position of senior vice president, worldwide sales and distribution during PTC's most successful years of growth.
