Enterprise Console: error 0000002c when deploying Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+ to remote domains
When you try to deploy Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+ from the Enterprise Console to a remote domain, you may receive the following error message:
"Error 0000002c The account you entered in the "Protect computers wizard" is unknown on the Management server computer"
This error message occurs when you try to deploy to a client in a remote domain, and you specify the username using the syntax 'domain\username'. It is also present if you try to deploy between a domain and a workgroup.
What to do
- To deploy to a single computer, remove the domain when specifying the username. The computer will use the local account rather than the domain account and automatic updating will run correctly.
- To deploy to a number of computers in a remote domain, you must create a trust relationship between the domains. (Consult your Windows documentation for details of how to do this.)
