EM Library: snapping in libraries when upgrading from earlier versions
After upgrading to EM Library version 1.2 or 1.3 from Enterprise Manager 1.0x, or from EM Library 1.1, only one library is snapped into the console. This is the most recent library to have been created from this console.
If remote libraries have been created from a console, one of those may be shown instead of the local library.
What to do
Snapping-in libraries
- If a remote library is shown, it will still need to be upgraded.
- Highlight the library, and from the menu bar, select 'Tools|Create Library'.
- If you do not want to upgrade the library yet, select 'Console|Add/Remove Snap-in..' to remove it from the console.
- The local library will always be upgraded, even it is not shown snapped into the console. Select 'Console|Add/Remove Snap-in..' to add it back in.
When you snap in libraries, always ensure that the services are running on the computer which is holding the library.
Version number on the snap-in
The version number shown by selecting 'Console|Add/Remove Snap-in..', then highlighting a library and clicking 'About', gives the version number of the console software, not that of the library you have highlighted.
You should not use this method to determine whether a particular remote library has already been upgraded.
EM Reporter
If EM Library is installed onto the same computer as EM Reporter, it may not be possible to snap EM Reporter into the EM Library console. The correct icon for EM Reporter may then not be displayed.
Restart the computer to clear these problems.
