Sophos PureMessage SBE: how to upgrade to version 2.5.1
Sophos PureMessage Small Business Edition (SBE), version 2.5.1, is an update for Sophos PureMessage SBE version 1.0.2. (It may also be used to update from version 1.0.1.)
Sophos PureMessage Small Business Edition (SBE), version 2.6 has now been released for Small Business customers as part of Small Business Solutions version 2. To upgrade to version 2.6 from version 2.5.1, follow the instructions given in the Sophos PureMessage SBE upgrade guide.
If you are running any other version of PureMessage for Windows/Exchange, do not use this update. Check which version you currently have installed before starting the upgrade.
This release of Sophos PureMessage SBE, version 2.5.1, delivers all the features to be included in our forthcoming release of our enterprise solution, PureMessage for Windows/Exchange, version 2.5.1. Therefore, we are taking this opportunity to align the version numbering of both the small business and enterprise products.
Sophos PureMessage SBE, version 2.5.1, incorporates a number of enhancements. It is available as a download from the Sophos website. Existing customers will not automatically be sent a CD.
What to do
NOTE: To complete the installation you must reboot the computer. Before you start the upgrade, ensure that you have chosen a time when the reboot will cause least inconvenience.
You do not need to uninstall your existing version of PureMessage before installing the update.
- Download the files from the Sophos website.
- Double-click the downloaded file, then click 'Install'.
- Click 'Next' to continue. Wait while the upgrade takes place.
- Click 'Finish'.
To check that the upgrade has taken place, open the PureMessage console and select 'Product Information'. The product version should be 2.5.1.
