Advisory: Microsoft Windows security updates for April 2006
Microsoft has released three new critical security updates for April 2006, covering Remote Code Execution vulnerabilities. The updates include a Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer.
- the Internet Explorer cumulative security update described in MS06-013 can affect several versions of Internet Explorer and several versions of Windows 2000/XP/2003
- the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) Function vulnerability described in MS06-014 could allow Remote Code Execution in several versions of Windows 2000/XP/2003
- the Windows Explorer vulnerability described in MS06-015 could allow Remote Code Execution in several versions of Windows 2000/XP/2003
In addition, Microsoft have released one important update, a Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express described in MS06-016 and one moderate update (MS06-017). Both these updates cover Remote Code Execution vulnerabilities.
