Enterprise Console: Error 5 'Verification of update files failed. The files did not match the manifest'

Issue
Enterprise Console displays the error:

Error 5 'Verification of update files failed. The files did not match the manifest'

This can be caused by a corrupt Central Installation Directory (CID) for this package in EM Library.

What to do

  1. Go to EM Library and locate the CID for this package.
  2. Right-click the CID, and Update.

If this does not fix the problem, do the following:

  1. Delete the CID from EM Library
  2. Go to the share directory, by default, located in C:\Program Files\SophosSweepforNT\ESXP.
  3. Right-click the share directory and select the Sharing tab for details
  4. Unshare 'InterChk'
  5. Delete the CID files and the sub-folder containing them.
  6. Reshare 'InterChk
  7. Recreate the CID in EM Library
