EM Library: upgrading to the edition supplied with Enterprise Console version 3 and above

These instructions are for use where the EM Library standalone installer has been used to create an EM Library console, and you now want to upgrade to a fully managed system using Enterprise Console.

What to do

Note: A separate knowledgebase article documents upgrading from EM Library 1.1 or Enterprise Manager.

  1. Export your standalone EM Library settings using EMLexp.exe.
  2. Uninstall standalone EM Library Console 1.2 and EM Library 1.2.
  3. Install Enterprise Console, as described in section 4 (Install the management tools) of the network startup guide.
  4. After logging back in, choose the 'Advanced setup' option in the 'Welcome to Sophos Endpoint Security and Control' dialog. EM Library console version 1.3.2 is displayed.
  5. Create a library for EM Library 1.3.2.
  6. Import your saved EM Library 1.2 settings into your new copy of EM Library 1.3 (the one with Enterprise Console).
  7. Check to see that EM Library 1.3.2 is using the correct databank, schedule, central installation directories (CIDs), and any other relevant settings.
