Sophos Control Center: error 'The hr was: 80004005'

Problem/Issue

When you click 'Update Now' in the Sophos Control Center the following error is generated:

The error detected was: GetDownloadProgressInfo() failed The hr was: 80004005

What to do

Open Windows Control Panel, select Administrative Tools|Active Directory Users and Computers.
In the list of users double-click Sophos_AU_Server.
In the Properties dialog box, select the Account tab.
Under account options, ensure that 'User cannot change password' and 'Password never expires' are the only two options checked.
Repeat steps 2-4 for the user Sophos_AU_Client.

Log off and log back on to the server. The Sophos Control Center should now update successfully from Sophos.
