W32/Cuebot-D is a network worm with backdoor Trojan functionality for the Windows platform.
W32/Cuebot-D attempts to spread using a variety of techniques including the exploitation of the PnP vulnerability (MS05-039).

W32/Cuebot-D attempts to spread using a variety of techniques including the exploitation of the PnP vulnerability (MS05-039).
When first run W32/Cuebot-D copies itself to <System>\ssl.exe and creates the file <Windows>\Debug\dcpromo.log.
The file ssl.exe is registered as a new system driver service named "ssl", with a display name of "Microsoft SSL" and a startup type of automatic, so that it is started automatically during system startup. Registry entries are created under:
